Steps to Replace a Tombstone Light Holder in a Light Fixture Step 1: Turn off the circuit breaker and the wall switch that operates the fluorescent fixture. Step 2: Remove the cover from the fixture and twist the fluorescent/LED tubes to release them from the light holder and carefully set the tubes aside. Step 3: Make sure that there is completely no electrical current in the fixture by holding a noncontact voltage detector. Step 4: Remove the screw or pull the damaged tombstone from the end of the fixture. Step 5: Pull out the wires from the tension spring contracts. You can insert a straightened paper clip or a screwdriver into the wire hole to open the spring contracts. Step 6: Connect the new tombstone light holders to the end of the light fixture.
