(See Fig. 1) Apply sufficient downward pressure on the sharpening rod to avoid slip during the sharpening process. 2. Angle between the knife blade and sharpening rod should be approximately 20 degrees. (See Fig. 2). 3. Place heel of your knife blade at the top of the sharpening rod at approximately 20 degrees. With consistent downward pressure, push the knife downward along the rod while pulling the knife towards you from heel to tip of the knife blade. (See Fig. 3) 4. Repeat this action on the opposite side of the knife blade. (See Fig. 4) 5. Repeat Step 3 & 4 until knife is sharp.
