Does it work? "Without a doubt" answers her Magic 8 Ball®. The Amazing View-Master®! Introduced at the 1940 World's Fair, the View-Master® with its stereo reels was an instant success, and remained popular for decades. Early reels had realistic travel scenes. By the late 1950s, reels featuring children's stories and licensed characters made the View-Master a real children's toy. Many different viewers were made, including a talking version. Barbie doll's View-Master pictured here is based on an original that also had 3 reels showing 21 pictures of her "Around the World Trip." Take a peek! The Popular Queen of the Prom® Game! The first Barbie® game! Introduced in 1961, it was advertised as "a fun game with real-life appeal for all girls", and featured imaginative Barbie play. With a game board, dice, play pieces, play money and cards, girls could "buy" a formal dress, get a steady boyfriend, be club president or win by becoming queen of the prom. The original game with all the pieces is a rare find today. Barbie doll's scaled-down version shown here looks like the original and has 8 playing cards, a die, and 2 game pieces. It was packaged really nice. It came with a cardboard in the middle of the magazines to help keep them from bending and wrappes in saran wrap. Which was a good add because the delivery service beat the box up and it had holes. Everything was there and in great condition.
