It is the 2019 California Dogface sheet issue and the seventh design added to the set. This nondenominated stamp reads NON-MACHINEABLE SURCHARGE. The beautiful stamp features a computer stylized illustration based upon a real butterfly. Derry Noyes designed the square stamp. A "nonmachinable" mailpiece is sorted outside of the standard automated mail process. A surcharge applies because it is more expensive to process. The rate is calculated as: 55c + 15c = 70c from Jan. 27, 2019 until now. The self-adhesive single has been expertly taken from clean stock and remains on original backing liner.
