Centennial Slimline C-693A Power Cord or Battery operated Vintage Cassette Tape Recorder I tested it using the included power cord, and it worked nicely. I did not test using batteries as I didn't have any size C batteries. The battery compartment looks really clean - see photos It played a music cassette really nicely. When I first adjusted the volume, there was a little static in the dial I tried the record, pause, fast forward and rewind features, and they worked as they should.
