The silver setting looks like it might just be plated, as it appears to be missing the plating where they've cut excess down to fit the gem, it is also sharp-ish at these points. BUT the sapphire is absolutely gorgeous, it does have a couple VERY minor chips in the face which are only noticeable with inspection. I haven't verified validity yet but the certification supplied is appreciated appears to be with EGL. With all this in mind the price is very reasonable. I adore the sapphire.
