Very user friendly instrument. Description(from mfgr): The NucleoCounter® YC-100™ is the most precise automated yeast cell counter on the market. Perfect for the brewing industry, it is used to count cells in pitching yeast, yeast in suspension, and dry yeast. It measures the total cell count and viability of yeast cells in suspension. This automated yeast cell counter features a camera and an integrated fluorescence microscope designed to detect signals from the fluorescent dye, propidium iodide (PI) when bound to DNA. Results from this instrument represent either total or non-viable cell concentration, depending on the sample preparation.
