Day Birger et Mikkelsen black brocade embellished pleated coat dress. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece by Danish designer Day Birger et Mikkelsen which is really hard to find. It probably dates from around the early to mid 2000s. There are so many lovely details on it with passementerie braiding trims and buttons, A pleated skirt section. An asymmetric button fastening so coat can be worn buttoned up with a high collar or can be worn open with collars. A pretty waist band seam section with fine pleated ribbon edging finished with an internal concealed press popper fastening and a passementerie style button on the outer. A fine brocade finish patterned fabric believed to be wool mix . Fine pleated ribbon trims at cuffs, hems, waist band section. A swirling print to the satin lining with fine pleated ribbon trim inside.Two mock flap pockets with satin lining on reverse. Two slant side pockets concealed at sides of pleats. Size: To best fit a size small or a UK8 to 10/US4-6 approximately. Quite a fitted waist band seam design. Measurements can be provided. Excellent vintage condition.
