After installing the filter, do not use the first 6 gallons of water that passes through the filter. Instead, let the water run freely and do not use it for any purpose. This will flush out any loose carbon dust and other particles that may have accumulated in the filter during transportation or storage. After flushing out the first 6 gallons of water, the filter will be ready for all your water filtration needs.
