This deck is my take on the Elder Futhark Runes, an earlyNordic system of divination that has been around formillennia. Typically, runes are found in the form of stones, dice,talismans, or other objects with carvings. When I firststarted to learn about runes, l found it difficult to relatethe Nordic symbol to the meaning. To help myself betterunderstand the meanings behind each rune, l createdthis deck of cards. Each card has a runic symbol, the traditional name, andan image that encompasses the meaning behind thesymbol. What is helpful with the Elder Futhark Runes isthat the meanings are relatively simple. Each runeconveys a concept or feeling that was prevalentthousands of years ago and remains relevant today. Theincluded dice provide an alternate way to draw runes in areading.
