Shiden Aratame is a fighter aircraft of the Japanese Navy that played an active role in World War II and the Pacific War. Since the main wing was attached to the center of the fuselage before SHIDEN Makeover, this is called the middle wing arrangement. After suffering from problems such as poor visibility and long legs attached to the main wing, the fuselage was redesigned and the main wing was placed under the fuselage. This is called the low wing arrangement. This improved design is called SHIDEN Makeover. The SHIDEN Makeover was much more powerful than SHIDEN. Shiden Aratame was mainly deployed to the 343 Air Force at Matsuyama Base in Shikoku, and played an active role in air defense in western Japan centered on the naval port in Kure, Hiroshima.
