Description

This is a beautiful instrument and the saxophone of my dreams! Henri Selmer Paris Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Rare Original Silver Plated, 1974 Model 22xxxx, one of the last ones of it's kind as Selmer switched to production of the Mark VII in the same year. This is sometimes called the "Conservatory Model" featuring 5 extra keys: high F#, G# trill key, forked Eb and high E trill key. Pads, felts, springs, and cork overhauled with a deep cleaning in 2019 when I purchased it from a fine instrument dealer. It has been played less than an hour since then. All pads seal well and springs function appropriately. Most of the original silver plate is intact with brass showing at playing wear locations. Some tarnish is present on the silver, especially on the neck. It is accompanied by a new Selmer S80 C Star mouthpiece, leather ligature, and padded strap. The original case was in tatters when I acquired it and was beyond repair so I replaced it with a hard-sided modern molded case for protection. An almost full pack of Van Doren size 3 reeds is included as well polishing and cleaning items.
