This is an extra-large pendant that was handmade during the mid-1900's in Kashmir along the Old Silk Road trade routes of Central Asia. It is vintage tribal jewelry, not a new reproduction. More measurements and relevant info are listed at the end of this description. Very sturdily made and does not bend. The unusual shape is that of 2 stylized birds facing back-to-back as if watching over all. Birds in this part of the world are revered as messengers between heaven and earth, and frequently appear in art and craft works. Each pendant has its distinctive incised design - with a large heart in the center and radiating patterns that mimic bird feathers. The colorful beads add an accent of vibrant color, and vary slightly on each pendant. Heart-shaped charm-dangles hang freely below, swaying with movement. A triple bail above can accommodate a wide cord or chain. I will send the display cord shown in the manikin image for free, although it is not intended for long term use. (note: the manikin image is one one of the pendants (C) to show relative size). This large pendant is in excellent condition, with a warm age patina. Please note that patina reflects the light when photographed, so items appear brighter in images than they really are.
