FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE...! Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal, that of a retried antiques dealer. Large vintage sterling silver rectangular footed shallow bowl, in a simple modernistic style, from the studio of one of México's most revered silversmiths.....Juventino Lopez Reyes. He opened his studio in 1935 at Plateria Del Reccreo, Mexico. In his signature style, the bowl stands 1 3/4 inches tall and measures 10 inches long and is 7 1/4 inches wide. Dating from the mid 1900s, the bowl is void of decoration, no engravings or monograms. Its simplicity evokes a Mid-Century vibe. It has an approximate weight of 520 grams and is hallmarked as illustrated. The bowl is in used Estate Condition. Lots of fine surface scratches from decades of polishing and normal use. No dents. One area on the face has a quarter size area with a circular series of fine scratches that did not register in the photos. The bowl was only hand polished for this listing and not professionally buffed. I inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size. Please note......
