Description This is a 1989 model from Fender's American Vintage series, produced in the early days of the transition from the Fullerton factory to the Corona factory. It is a '57 Stratocaster 2-Color Sunburst, one of the first vintage reissue models released by Fender in 1982. The instrument is a faithful reissue of the 1957 Stratocaster, featuring an alder body finished in 2-tone sunburst, a one-piece maple neck with a maple fretboard, and a single-ply 8-screw pickguard. The specification is true to the original '57, with vintage details such as the clover-shaped string guides. With 35 years since its manufacture, this guitar exudes the charm and character of a real '57 Stratocaster, with natural lacquer wear on the fretboard, slight wood erosion, and the overall aging of the body giving it a distinct vintage feel. The guitar has developed an authentic patina from years of use, including lacquer checking and discoloration from storage in a stand or hard case, which adds to the vintage atmosphere. Regarding playability, the neck condition is excellent, and there is still plenty of adjustment available on the truss rod. However, the frets show significant wear and some indentations, with about 50% of fret height remaining. Despite this, there is no noticeable buzzing or fretting issues, and the guitar remains fully playable. The body shows signs of wear with some finish degradation on the lower part from being in a stand, a crack on the back of the headstock near the 1st string tuner, some lift on the pickguard as typical of the 8-screw design, and some parts like the backplate and pickup mount tube have been replaced. While these signs of age are evident, the guitar still retains its original vibe and aesthetic. It comes with a vintage-style tweed hard case and includes other accessories, making it a rare and valuable find, offering the feel and quality of a new instrument from the time of its release.
