Description This is the 2013 New American Vintage '56 Stratocaster in 3-Color Sunburst. The American Vintage series, which began production in 1982, has been reinterpreted with an entirely new concept to create the New American Vintage series, elevating it to a new level of vintage reissue models. The New American Vintage '56 Stratocaster is designed to faithfully replicate the 1956 model, focusing on specifications that differ from the 1957 Strat, a more common vintage year. The guitar features an alder body and maple neck, with the wood materials transitioning from ash to alder during the period. The model features a vintage-style "V"-shaped neck profile, providing a substantial grip that enhances the vintage feel compared to the "C" shape of the 57 model. This makes the guitar feel much more authentic to its vintage roots. In terms of finishes, the New American Vintage series made a notable improvement: while previous American Vintage models used poly undercoats with a lacquer top coat, this model features a full lacquer finish from base to top coat. This ensures that the guitar will age gracefully, acquiring a beautiful patina over time, with cracks, wear, and color fading, mimicking the look of a true vintage instrument. The 5-way pickup selector switch allows for a wide variety of tones, including the popular in-between “half-tone” sounds.
